Hey AIpreneur,

I just watched the Microsoft Build event, and I couldn't wait to share all the exciting news with you! Here's everything you need to know about the latest AI advancements that are set to change how we use computers forever.

YouTube Highlights for AIpreneurs

Highlights from Microsoft Build

The highlight of the event was the unveiling of the new "Co-Pilot + PC" – AI-first computers designed to run AI inference directly on the machine using a CPU, GPU, and an NPU (Neural Processing Unit).

What Makes Co-Pilot + PC So Special?

  1. AI Inference On-Device:

    • The AI inference happens locally, which means no more delays from cloud processing. These machines are incredibly powerful, even outperforming MacBooks with M3 processors in speed and performance.

  2. Enhanced Co-Pilot Experience:

    • Co-Pilot is now a flexible app you can move around your screen. You can interact with it using your voice in real-time. I saw demos where Co-Pilot assisted in playing Minecraft and editing photos – it's like having a personal assistant for everything!

  3. Recall Feature:

    • Imagine your computer having a photographic memory. The recall feature remembers everything you've done, from websites visited to activities in Microsoft apps. You can search for past activities and even delete any you don't want to keep.

Addressing Privacy Concerns

I know privacy is a big concern, and Microsoft has taken this seriously:

  • You can control and turn off features as you wish.

  • No data is sent to the cloud for training; everything stays on your computer.

  • These features work offline, ensuring your data stays private and secure.

Cool Demonstrations

  1. Surface PCs:

    • The new Surface PCs come with AI enhancements. I saw a demo where you can draw something in Microsoft Paint, and the AI will refine it in real-time into different styles like pixel art or watercolor.

  2. Real-Time Transcription and Translation:

    • This feature transcribes and translates conversations in real-time during video calls. It's perfect for breaking down language barriers in meetings.

My Thoughts and What's Next

As an AI enthusiast, I'm thrilled about the potential of AI-first computers. The ability to process AI locally on your device is a game-changer for both privacy and efficiency.

This was just day one of the Microsoft Build event, and there's a lot more to come. Stay tuned for updates on more exciting announcements from other tech giants like Google, Cisco, Qualcomm, and Apple.
